FAQ

Does being cold give you a weak immune system?

There are two types of people in the world: those who love winter and those that hate it. But whether you love or hate it, you may find yourself wondering why you feel so lousy when it's cold out.

Our bodies were designed to work best in warm climates. Hot climates are where our food sources are most plentiful, and we evolved to thrive there.

Now, however, we live in a completely different environment to how our ancestors lived. We spend more time indoors, are often exposed at extreme temperatures (cold and hot), and eat processed food rather than fresh.

Our bodies aren’t accustomed to extreme temperatures anymore. That means that when we do venture outdoors, we're left feeling tired, sluggish, and even sick.

However, there are ways to counter these effects. One way is to make sure that you stay well-hydrated throughout the day. If you drink plenty of water, you'll help keep your body properly hydrated and flush toxins from your system.

Another important step is to ensure that you're eating healthy meals. Eating nutritious foods helps your body maintain its optimal temperature. This is particularly helpful for anyone who spends long periods of time inside.

Finally, consider taking a few minutes each morning to meditate. Meditation can help you relax your mind, body and soul. This makes it easier to manage stress and illnesses.

What is the problem in BMI?

BMI stands For Body Mass Index. It is a measurement of body mass based on height and/or weight. Here is how to calculate BMI using the following formula.

Add weight in kilograms to height in meters squared.

The result is expressed using a number from 1 to 25. A score of 18.5 or higher indicates overweight, while a score of 23 or higher indicates obesity.

A person who weighs 100 kg and has a height of 1.75 m will have a BMI of 22.

What can you do for your immune system to improve?

The human body is made up of trillions and trillions cells. These cells combine to form organs or tissues that serve specific functions. One cell is replaced by another when it dies. Cells communicate with one another using chemical signals called hormonal hormones. Hormones regulate all bodily functions from growth and developmental to metabolism and immunity.

Hormones can be described as chemicals produced by glands in the body. They travel through the blood stream and act like messengers to control how our bodies function. Some hormones are produced internally while others are made outside of the body.

The hormone-producing glands release their contents into bloodstream. This is when hormone production starts. Once released, hormones move through the body until they reach their target organ. Some hormones may only remain active for a limited time. Some hormones remain active for longer periods of time and can continue to have an impact on the body's function long after they are gone.

Some hormones can only be produced in large quantities. Others are produced in small amounts.

Some hormones are made at specific times in your life. Estrogen, for example, is produced in puberty as well during pregnancy, menopause, old age, and after menopause. Estrogen assists women with breast development, bone density, and osteoporosis prevention. It also promotes hair growth and keeps skin smooth and soft.

What's the difference between a calorie and kilocalorie?

Calories refer to units that are used for measuring the amount of energy contained in food. Calories are a unit of measurement. One calorie is equal to one degree Celsius in energy.

Kilocalories are another term for calories. Kilocalories equal one thousandth of an calorie. For example, 1000 calories equals one kilocalorie.

Are there 5 ways to have a healthy lifestyle?

Are there 5 ways to have a healthy lifestyle?

Living a healthy lifestyle includes eating right, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, managing stress, and having fun! Healthy eating means avoiding sugary and processed foods. Exercise burns calories and strengthens the muscles. Getting enough sleep improves memory and concentration. Stress management can reduce anxiety and depression. And finally, having fun keeps us young and vibrant.

What is the difference between fat and sugar?

Fat can be a source of energy that is obtained from food. Sugar is a sweet, naturally occurring substance in fruits and vegetables. Both sugars and fats have the same calories. However, fats contain more than twice as many calories as sugars.

The body stores fats and they can lead to obesity. They can cause cholesterol buildup which can lead to strokes and heart attacks.

Sugars are quickly absorbed by the body and provide instant energy. This causes blood glucose levels to rise. High blood glucose levels are dangerous as it can increase the likelihood of developing type 2 diabetes.

Exercise: Good and bad for immunity?

Exercise is good for your immune systems. Exercise boosts the production of white blood cells in your body that fight infections. You can also eliminate toxins from the body. Exercise is a great way to prevent diseases such as cancer and heart disease. Exercise also helps to reduce stress levels.

But too much exercise can damage your immune system. When you exercise too hard, your muscles will become sore. This causes inflammation and swelling. Your body then has to produce more antibodies to fight off infection. The problem is that these extra antibodies can cause allergies and autoimmune disorders.

So, don't overdo it!

10 tips to a healthy lifestyle

How to maintain a healthy lifestyle

We live in an era where it is difficult to get enough rest, we eat too often, drink too much alcohol, and use cigarettes. We don't pay enough attention to our body's health.

It is very hard to find a balanced diet and exercise routine when you work fulltime and do all these things at the same time. Stress makes it even more difficult. Our minds tell us we can't handle this situation any longer so we feel guilty and give in.

If you feel like something is wrong with your body, then it probably is. Seek out a doctor to discuss your current health condition. If you find nothing unusual, it could be stress from your job.

Some people believe that their job allows them to exercise regularly, or they have friends who support them in staying fit. They are fortunate. They have no problems. They managed everything. I wish that everyone could be like them. Unfortunately, many people are not able to balance their work and personal lives. Many people end up with bad habits which eventually lead to diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer and many others.

These are some tips to help you improve your life.

  1. Get adequate sleep - 7 hours a day minimum, 8 hours maximum. You should be able to sleep in a proper position and avoid caffeine the hour before you go to bed. Caffeine blocks melatonin hormones, making it difficult to fall asleep. You should also ensure that your bedroom has a dark, clean environment. If you work late at night, make sure you have blackout curtains.
  2. Eat healthy. Have breakfast every morning. Sugar products, fried food, processed foods and white breads should be avoided. Include fruits, vegetables, and whole grain for lunch. Afternoon snacks are recommended to be rich in protein and fiber, such as nuts, seeds, beans, fish and dairy products. Avoid snacking on unhealthy foods like chips, candy, cookies, cakes, and sodas.
  3. Drink plenty of water - Most of us don' t drink enough water. Water helps us to burn more calories, keeps our skin looking young and supple, flushes toxins from our system and improves digestion. Drinking six glasses of water daily will help you lose weight faster. You can determine how hydrated you are by examining the color of your urine. Yellow is dehydrated. Orange means mildly dehydrated. Pink means normal. Red means overhydrated. Clear means extremely-overhydrated.
  4. Exercise - Regular physical activity has been proven to increase energy levels and reduce depression. Walking is a simple exercise that can improve your mood. Walking may appear easy but requires concentration and effort. Your brain must be able to focus on the act of walking while you breathe slowly and deeply. Walking for 30 minutes at a steady pace can help you burn between 100 to 150 calories. Slowly increase the pace. Stretch after exercising to avoid injuries.
  5. Be positive - Positive thinking is essential for mental health. When we think positively, it creates a happy environment within ourselves. Negative thinking can drain our energy and create anxiety. Try to visualize the things you are aiming to achieve. You can break down all the tasks into smaller pieces if you feel overwhelmed. Remember that you are bound to fail sometimes but just pick yourself up and start again.
  6. Learn to say no - We often get so busy that we do not even realize how much time we waste doing unimportant things. It is important that you learn to say no when necessary. Not saying "no" is rude. Simply saying "No" does not mean you are rude. You can always find a way to finish the task later. You should set limits. Ask someone to help. Or simply delegate this work to someone else.
  7. Take care to your body. You can boost your metabolism by eating healthier foods. You should avoid eating too many oily and heavy foods, as they can increase your cholesterol. It is a good idea to eat three meals per day and two snacks each day. Aim to consume 2000-2500 calories each day.
  8. Meditate - Meditation is a great stress reliever and reduces anxiety. You can relax your mind by simply sitting still and closing your eyes. This exercise will give you clarity of thought, which is very helpful in reaching decisions. Meditation regularly can make you happier and calmer.
  9. Breakfast is the most important meal in the day. Skipping breakfast may lead to overeating during lunchtime. It's never too late to have a balanced breakfast. Just make sure you eat it within one hour of getting up. Eaten breakfast will boost your energy and help you manage your hunger.
  10. Make sure you eat clean food. Food has a greater impact on your mood than you realize. Avoid junk food or any food items that contain preservatives or artificial ingredients. These foods can make your body more acidic and cause cravings. A variety of fruits and vegetables is rich in vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that can help improve overall health.
